A Closer Look Inside The Restored Church of God
The Restored Church of God (RCG), led by Pastor General David C. Pack, is commissioned to announce the good news of the kingdom of God to all nations (Matt. 24:14), warn the modern nations descended from ancient Israel of impending national punishment (Isa. 58:1; Ezek. 33:1-19), and feed the spirit-begotten flock of God (John 21:15-17; I Pet. 5:1-2).
As the only true extension of the ministry and work that Jesus Christ accomplished over 52 years through Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong, RCG is committed to freely offering—through the largest biblically based website in the world, www.thercg.org—thorough and comprehensive PLAIN UNDERSTANDING on virtually every teaching of the Bible, small and great.
The following list offers insight into how we function:
- The Church’s World Headquarters is in Wadsworth, Ohio, USA. It has a large, trained staff that handles ministerial, editorial, technical, financial, legal, mail processing, letter answering and all other duties necessary for a worldwide organization. Plans for a beautiful, three-story world headquarters building are underway.
- The Church produces a Behind the Work film each year. It presents the advancing Work of God and brings a fascinating, detailed inside view of how RCG proclaims the true gospel, while spiritually feeding a rapidly increasing membership. The film provides the best “closer look” inside RCG.
- The World to Come (video) program, presented by Mr. Pack, explains the causes behind mankind’s worst problems—and the only solutions! It is a continuation of The World Tomorrow program, presented by Mr. Armstrong.
- The Real Truth—the monthly, four-color flagship magazine, similar to the old Plain Truth, which is distributed worldwide and available online.
- A great many free books and booklets, articles, lessons, magazines, etc., exist for those God is calling to His Church and truth. Millions of items are distributed annually worldwide (including through the Internet). (Material is also produced in Spanish, French, German, Dutch and Afrikaans.)
- Bible Introduction Course—a 30-lesson course introducing the basic doctrines and plan of God.
- A Splinter Explanation Packet—with ten books, plus sermons, this is sent to all with a background in the WCG and its doctrines. It removes all doubt about what is The Restored Church of God.
- The Church is parent to Ambassador Training Center—a formal, two-year institution offering a wide range of courses. It brings the necessary training and educational foundation for field pastors, as well as Headquarters leaders and other personnel.
- Full-time ministers, with elders and deacons, guide congregations and individual brethren, with more continually being trained and hired across the United States and international areas. Church Administration holds Ministerial Conferences. (A Leadership Development Program trains other local leaders.)
- The Pastor General’s Report (PGR) is sent monthly to the ministry and leadership to inform and assist in important matters.
- A detailed Host Information Manual answers questions about local administration, and permits the Church to function “decently and in order” (I Cor. 14:33, 40). (Necessary form letters also serve member needs.)
- An Advisory Council of Elders assists the Pastor General.
- Sermons, sermonettes and extensive Announcement Bulletins are sent weekly to Hosts of local congregations (and to all scattered members) for Sabbath services.
- The Church currently has 17 Feast of Tabernacles sites around the world. Scattered brethren who cannot reach a site receive sermons for each day of the Feast.
- The Pillar is a bi-monthly, four-color magazine for members. Select articles are available online for others.
- Ambassador Youth is a bi-monthly, four-color magazine for teens to help them navigate through these difficult times. Also, Ambassador Youth Camp is held each summer.
- The Church provides many other tools addressing marriage, family and childrearing. No other organization on earth even begins to rival what is offered. Some aid parents with children of every age.
- A Brethren/Co-Worker Letter is sent monthly.
